Churup Lake is one of the most beautiful glacier lake in the Cordillera Blanca, besides is ideal for people, who
are looking for acclimatization, because after that they attempted treks or climb with more time and higher
elevation in Cordillera Blanca & Huayhuash.

Program
DAY 1: Huaraz at (3100m) – Pitec settlement at (3850m) – Lake Churup at (4480m) – Huaraz.
(Trek time: 6 hours (ascend & descend) / driving time: 2 hours (go & back)
Departure from Huaraz at 7.00 am to the east side until Pitec settlement, on the way we will pass by Unchus, &
Llupa village. From Pitec we will start walking up toward lake Churup, enjoying highland vegetation as: quenual
trees, which are typical highland plants as soon as we reach higher and higher the view is better, for taking
pictures about huge peaks as: mount Huamashraju at 5450m, Cordillera Negra at 5186m, as well as the imposing mount
Churup at 5496m, on the path to lake we will see clearly melting glacier, that activity is rising stunning
cascades, rivers that ran deep valleys. We will spend 3 hours to walk up until reach lake churup at 4480m, where
we will spend one hour to have lunch, enjoying the view, and focusing scenic pictures, after one hour there we
will came back walking down until parking site about 3 hours, finally we will take our transport to come back
huaraz.
